Scholarships

In honor of our founding members, GOSSLP is proud to announce two scholarships for students pursuing higher-level education. GOSSLP will award a $500 scholarship for you to use towards your educational/clinical expenses (ex. books, therapy materials, etc.). Applications will open on October 1, 2024 and be accepted through December 1, 2024. 

Founding Members Scholarship for Continuing Education ($500)

This award is available to an SLP who already has a master's level education and is pursuing a specialist or doctorate degree. 

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Current member of GOSSLP
  2. Currently employed as an SLP in a Georgia school system (minimum of two years)
  3. Enrolled in an educational program (specialist or doctorate level) for at least two (2) semesters in the area of communication sciences that has been accepted by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission
  4. Have good scholastic achievement and professional involvement related to the field of speech-language pathology
  5. Complete the essay requirement (below)

Founding Members Scholarship for Future SLPs ($500)

This award is available to a student who is enrolled in a master's level SLP program.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Current member of GOSSLP
  2. Enrolled in a masters-level educational program for at least two (2) semesters in the area of communication sciences that has been accepted by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, OR currently employed as an SLP-A in a Georgia school system (minimum of two years)
  3. Have good scholastic achievement and professional involvement related to the field of speech-language pathology
  4. Complete the essay requirement (below)

Essay Requirement

Describe the learning experiences that you have completed or plan to complete during your current academic career that have deepened your understanding of the field of school-based speech-language pathology and how. you plan to implement what you learn with the services you provide for your students. Also indicate how the awarded funds may help you in achieving this goal. Limit response to 1,500 words or less, typed.
